Faith without works is dead

We all know that God can do anything but I would like to talk about those times when we keep praying and do not get results. We teach all people about the cross because Paul said that the fact that he is persecuted proves that he preaches the cross. When we have crucified a person or a problem, we have done all we can. Yes, we speak the Word and give God praise for a favorable outcome. But the fact remains that some people will not change because they have a free will.

I have been in a situation where we were praying for a person in depression and when I anointed that person with oil, I saw Jesus was there inside that person. I am saying that Jesus, the author of life was inside that person, for he did give his heart to Jesus, yet that person just sat in deep depression. It is a hard lesson to learn. One person said that he would take the depressed person to a Pastor who has great authority over oppressed people. He phoned the Pastor and asked if he would be willing to drive the depressed demon out, and the Pastor answered. “Only if that person is willing can the depression be cast out.” God created man with a free will.

We will of course not stop praying, God’s will be done. In the meantime, we will look at things that are not, as though they are, as we are taught in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews. It takes a lot of patience to bring things to pass by faith. Noah is mentioned as a faith hero in this chapter who saved his family by building the ark. As I have worked with my hands all my life I have a lot of admiration for Noah.  I have never built a boat and I am sure nor did he. It must have been an enormous undertaking and his only motivation was his faith that he was doing God’s will. Abel is also mentioned as a faith hero. He sacrificed to God because he believed that God was real. Cain also sacrificed, the only difference was that he obviously did not truly believe God was real.  The very least requirement faith has is that we must believe that God is real. It is impossible to please God without faith. It is not even difficult to do, even a child can do it. I have the gift of seeing in the hearts of people when I pray for them. In some cases I have seen the most wonderful things, I will never forget. When I see these people years later, I ask them if those wonderful things came to pass and the answer is mostly negative.  I am sure that God put inner thoughts of great things in them but you see it will never come into the physical if we do not use faith to bring it about. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” But now we must step out and do it!  It is like stepping off a cloud-covered mountain and hoping there will be firm rocks to walk on even if you can’t see them. It is not a case of some people having more faith than others because we all have the same portion of faith. (Rom 12:3)

We have the same faith Jesus had. Whenever I was completely sure the plan I had was from God it was never difficult to take that step.  I have been building all my life and never had the money for the project. The trick is to be sure that it is God’s plan, we have to know that God is in it, then we just keep working until it is completed. In this way, the glory belongs to God.  I never got up one morning and found the angels had brought the stone out of the mountain, I had to do the work. This is why so many projects never come into the physical, we must do the work, and God will not do it for us. Even if we are only believing in a change in someone’s heart, we are still the ones who must do the believing. We must steadfastly look at the things we want to happen. We must never stop believing and acting as if it has already happened.

James 2:17: So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].  (Amplified Bible)

Getting Answers from God

The slightest bit of sin that is not dealt with has a deadening effect on the garden of the heart. Paul’s famous words in Romans 8:6 says:  It is the flesh and it is death.

What is this death?

The death we are talking about is not a physical immediate death; it is like a garden that is being choked with thorns. The garden cannot bring forth life. Before we were born into the earth God placed a particular purpose in the hearts of all people, something that only you can do for God. I once heard the Holy Spirit say that there are things in heaven that can only come into the earth via a pure heart. He (the Holy Spirit) complained that he struggles to find a holy heart into which these plans and ideas can be sowed that the earth needs for us to keep up in an ever-changing world.

The Heart Garden

We see so many people struggle and even go to bed cold and hungry. All because the fundamental principles of the Kingdom are not kept. Jesus told many parables and all of them had something to do with a garden. His parables revealed the secrets and the rules of the Kingdom of God. He said things like a good tree can not bear bad fruit. He told the parable of the Sower where the type of soil the seed fell in determined the harvest. What you sow is what you reap. Our hearts are the soil. Good soil produces a good harvest. Thorns and rocks in the soil represent worries and fears. These worries and fears cause us to think bad thoughts and become sick and negative. This is what the Bible calls sin, or the sinful nature which produces death in our soul and our body. We are all dying slowly.

How do we clean our hearts?

The blood of Jesus is the ever-cleansing power that sanctifies us and gives us a clean heart and a clear conscience before God and Man.  By daily submitting our thoughts, mind, and body to God we can take part in the finished work of the Cross. We place all our cares and worries on the cross and abandon our own selfish, soulish nature at the cross. By hanging our cares on the cross the blood of Jesus now cleanses and seals us from an evil conscience and we are represented to the Father without spot or blemish. How to use the cross is explained in detail in our free booklet, “The Twelve Room Prayer”.

If we make it a priority to invite God to search our hearts and take all sin away, He can teach us how to guard the heart against the sin in the fleshly nature. He will teach us to transform our thoughts by becoming a living sacrifice. (Rom 12:1-2)

Getting answers from God

To do this we learn to take thoughts captive, we do introspection, and open our hearts, so God can search the heart and show us which part of our soulish natural self is causing destruction in the heart garden. We must give God time to search us. It is important to give time to God daily. To give time to God is as good as seeds that are being sown. Because the heart garden is always bringing forth what we sow in it. If you give God time, you get time. It is important to give more time so we can get to know God who is the source of all life. God wants us to know him intimately. In fact, God wants us to know all things.

1 John 2:20: “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”

Although the Bible teaches that we can ask God for anything, very few of us get answers. This is when we give up and don’t ask anymore. All the promises of the Bible are wonderful but will only function if we guard the heart. The conscience must be clear before the Almighty God. We must keep the garden free from sin. If the conscience is clear we have confidence that God will answer our prayers. This is why we must use communion because the blood of Jesus is for the cleansing of the conscience. It seals the spirit from the soul.

In this way we can live by the spirit and not the flesh. It is the only way! This is why Jesus died on the cross so we can rule over the flesh and stay in the spirit.

The moment we allow sin in the heart is when Murphy’s law set in. This is when things begin to go wrong and we expect it, because we have a guilty conscience! In fact, we allow bad things to happen with the power of our minds in the same way Job said that the thing he feared happened to him.  The conclusion of the lesson Job learned is that he knew about God but he did not know God.

If we continually strive to keep our conscience or our heart pure, we can be confident that God will provide all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus!

Why does God allow bad things?

Guard the heart!

All people have free will and this is the reason why some may choose to be as evil as they like and God allows it. Some people are senselessly killing maiming and slaughtering the animals of the earth, yet God allows it. With the present-day Russian-Ukrainian war, we see this same kind of cruelty, yet God allows it. We see how women and children are mistreated and left for dead and many other cruelties too numerous to name. These things cause intellectual people to ask: why does God not stop it?

The reason why God does not intervene is because God has given the earth to man, and man has a free will to do with it what he likes.

Jer 17:9;  “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is the conscience which is that place in us where God has written His laws, we all have a knowing of right and wrong. But whether we will choose to obey God’s laws is our own business

People who are stealing are not listening to the rules of the heart, they are not asking God for money they are making their own money regardless of who they are harming as in the case of the ANC government. The Russians are making money by killing and maiming just like the poachers are killing animals mercilessly.

The subject of Jeremiah 17 is that God wants to prosper man, He wants man to be like a tree.

Jer 17:8:  “For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:8

Because God wants to prosper us, he is always searching our hearts to see if we are guarding our hearts against inner evil. He wants us to trust Him, He wants to care for us but we have to love Him with all our hearts –all our souls and everything in us. While we are trusting Him it may be that bad things happen to us but this is how He can see if we truly trust Him and believe He will help us. The story of Job in the Bible is our story. God is always searching our hearts and finding ways to test us because he knows how deceitful the heart of man is.

Jer 17:10:  “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”

Jeremiah 17:10

We must not be discouraged by what we see happening in the world. Never think that God has forgotten about you.  Wicked worldly people have always been trashing the earth.

Isa 60:2  “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”

Isaiah 60:2

I have been living by faith for 45 years and I have seen how true this is. This scripture above is for today.

Terrible things are happening on the earth but the glory of the Lord is rising on the Lord’s people. We will always be provided for. God will always make a way for his people; He will always provide for you if you prove that you trust Him.

How to Keep the heart (Part 2)

I recently saw a video of a preacher encouraging people to have a clear conscience. He then left it there without telling them how to do it.

This is the second letter on how to guard the heart. Click here if you missed the first one.

Once you understand how the conscience works you will see that it is the subject of the Bible. The Bible uses physical things to explain spiritual things. Now you will understand that the Garden of Eden is the Conscience. Out of the conscience comes everything we have need of. It compares to the soil in the sense that it must be weed-free in order to bring forth good things. It must be planted in and then it must be watered and kept clean. (Just like the Parable of the Sower who sowed the seed in different kinds of Soil in Matthew 13)

The first time God spoke to man He said: “Keep the garden!”

Prov 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

God is the great provider; He will give you everything you need if you keep your garden.

God’s laws are written in our hearts, we know right from wrong, and we know the Ten commandments instinctively.

When we learn to deal with sin the way Jesus showed us, the provision of God is like a river of life. The moment we allow sin to enter the heart, the river dries up. Living this life of guarding the heart pleases God and will always feel as if you are living in a garden. The original meaning for the word Garden means “fenced”. It’s like having a fenced mind, being in a safe place where you can talk to God in the cool of the day. In the New Testament, this place is called the Kingdom of God.

We are told that if we find this Kingdom first all things will be added (Matt 6:33). It is very much the like the Promised Land. Those people who eventually entered the Promised Land were living in a type of heaven. Everything was provided for them in a supernatural way.

God lives in the heart of man, it is His property, and we gave the heart to God. We cannot give the heart to anything else. If we allow fear in the heart we have a fearful heart. The same place we gave to God belongs to everything else we decide to give it to.  Many people do not think that it is bad to give your heart to your spouse or children. Perhaps we give our hearts to our goals or some people give their hearts to dogs. The subject of romance stories is broken hearts.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and everything in you.

Remember the first two commandments.  As we spend our time reading the Word of God the Holy Spirit explains it all, and the Word becomes alive. Now, this life in Christ becomes a blessed life with new ideas and opportunities. The first Psalm says He who meditates the word of God is like a tree planted by streams of water bringing forth his fruit in season and whatsoever he does prosper.

However, the sinful nature lies at the door, always looking for an opportunity to slip a thought into the garden that can grow and cause a stronghold. The smallest thought can grow and cause the fall of mega companies. Lust can creep in, and if unchecked can cause adultery that can ruin the lives of many people. Greed can cause a country to be bankrupted while pride is blinding the eyes and the garden is closed to its occupants.

Learn to guard the heart. Learn to listen to the still small voice that will transform your mind and teach you to be a living sacrifice daily.

By daily doing introspection, taking thoughts captive, and crucifying the things of the flesh we are guarding our hearts.

Tell us what your garden looks like! We would love to hear your comments!

Painting the doors of our hearts

I was recently asked to comment on a paper where many commentaries wrote about their ministries, on how to tackle the problem of pornography in churches. I am pleased that not one of these commentaries said that the problem is the devil. They all agreed that it is the flesh or sinful nature as they quoted from Romans 6 to 8.

According to Galatians 5:19, it is a work of the flesh. If we live according to the flesh it becomes our fruit. We are not eating from the Tree of Life, we are not bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit. (Which is named in Gal 5:22) Jesus made disciples, it’s all about discipline.

You might be asking: “But how can I keep all these things out of my mind?”

The work of the cross divides between flesh and spirit. It divides between the sinful nature and the things of the Spirit of God. It divides between below and above things. Jesus was crucified on Passover and He became the sacrificial Lamb. He poured out His blood for the sins of all mankind.

Remember when the Israelites had to paint the blood of the lamb on the lintel and door posts of their houses, this caused death to pass them by and only the firstborn of the Egyptians died.

Today we apply the blood of Jesus to the doors of our hearts so that sin cannot enter in. We do this by using communion.

Blood on the doors.

We enter our prayer closet and close the door behind us. We are now in one of the rooms of the heart. We take a cracker and grape juice and hold it before God to bless it. We say: “we will follow Jesus, we will die to the flesh and rise in the spirit in the same way Jesus did.”

We meditate on how He overcame all mental anguish in the garden until He sweated blood. He then rose as a warrior King and gave himself up to the temple guards to be mistreated. They beat Him and spat upon Him, making fun of and tormenting Him. During all this He never once complained, He did not shout at them or curse or beg. He practiced self-control and prayed for them. He bowed His back at the whipping post and endured terrible wounds so that we may never be sick again. All this time His blood was flowing. Then He took up His cross and had the Roman soldiers crucify His hands and feet to the cross. Do you see?

He crucified the flesh!

For six hours He hung there where He overcame the flesh completely. He overcame the spirit of death and decay as well as all sickness and mental anguish and the entire sinful nature of man. He became poor so that we may never be without the things we need. Then they stabbed Him in the side and out poured blood and water. This blood He carried into the most Holy Place and sprinkled it in the hearts or conscience of all people on the earth for the forgiveness of sins. Anyone can partake of the blood of Jesus and be forgiven.

NO SIN IS TOO GREAT FOR THE BLOOD TO COVER!!

Heb.10:22: “He sprinkles my thoughts from an evil conscience and washed me in pure water.”

Daily, we follow Jesus and crucify the evil nature and then live in the Spirit in the presence of God with a blood-washed conscience. Read Gal5:19-24. What is better than having a clear conscience?

If you struggle with the flesh crucify it!!!!!

This is why He said take up your cross, follow me and lay down your life daily. Luke 9:23.

Guarding our hearts daily

One of the most informative scriptures in the Bible is Genesis 6:5.

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

God came down to earth to see the state of the heart of man, and He saw that the imaginations and thoughts of the heart of man were always evil. The result was that he ordered Noah to build the ark because He was going to wipe all evil from the face of the earth through a flood. This is how strong God feels about the conscience of man.

In the New Testament, God lives in the heart of man. We must love God with all our hearts, mind, soul and everything that is within us. In Psalm 21:2 God gives us the desire of our hearts. In Proverbs 4:23 we must guard our hearts above all else because all the issues of life come from it.

The miraculous part that is within all mankind is the imagination and thoughts of the heart. God provides for us according to the way we keep our hearts sin-free so that the heart is only His dwelling.

Many times in my life I have thought that we cannot pay the salaries this month because of a lack of funds, yet we have not even once not paid salaries on time. God has always provided. It is miraculous! It reminds me of the way Jesus held a hand full of fish and bread up to heaven, thanking the Father for the provision and the food multiplied in His hands as He gave it to five thousand people to eat their fill. Nothing is impossible to God! Here is a scripture that says that nothing shall be impossible to us.

Mat 17:20:  “For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.”

When we hear of wars famine and souring petrol prices it could be that the slightest bit of worry comes into us. I would like to remind our readers that fear comes into the heart. The same heart that we gave to God becomes the dwelling of the stench of fear, after which follows all the other works of the flesh. Fear defiles the imaginations and thoughts of the heart. It is thorns in the garden of the heart that chokes the good harvest.

God provides for us according to the way we think.

Eph 3:20:  “Now unto him, that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

But what power is within us?

In the case of Job, we see that the thing he feared happened to him. Fear in the heart takes over the power of the heart to bring forth the things we fear.

Seen in this light we can see the importance of sanctification of the heart. We are all sinners, but we have a great high priest, Christ Jesus who sprinkles our hearts from an evil conscience. He cleanses our hearts when we use communion and washes it in pure water. Heb.10:22. This is when we can approach the throne of God with confidence and be sure that God will surely supply all your needs, exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think because He is the power present in the heart when we guard it above all else.

If it may be that you the reader are in desperate need. First, do introspection and ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart for sin. Now take communion and, crucify those negative things. When you are sure you have dealt with everything that is not of God, go and stand before the Almighty God and call the things you have need of as a son of God. Mark 11:23-25. Now remain in thanksgiving, receiving in the imagination and thoughts of the heart the things you need and give God the glory. You will have whatsoever you say you will have!

To help you along we have the Twelve Room Prayer. This free prayer booklet will help you organize your thoughts so you can be more productive in your prayer life.

We will also love to hear what you think about this topic. Please comment below.

Are you overcome by Fear?

A Person who have gone through our Alpha Omega Cave some months ago phoned us with a fearful, shaking, timed voice. She is being tortured by overcoming voices, nagging and bringing up the past, like a tape playing over and over. When she tries to have quiet time it gets worse and she does not know if it is from God. She is afraid and nervous, the tension makes her shake so much that she cannot do her work. She is affecting her colleges and they have moved her to a separate room.

I am sure that there are many others who are being affected this way. Perhaps you know someone who is in the same state. It might be that you are praying with someone who is not overcoming nervous problems or illnesses of some kind.

It is should categorically be established that the things mentioned above is not from God.

We know from the Lord’s Prayer that the will of God must come to earth and it must be in earth as it is in heaven. How is it in heaven? Stop thinking that God wants bad things to happen to you, God is good. Go read about the character of God in Galatian 5:22. God is love, joy peace, longsuffering. God loves us. God is love. He sent Jesus to show His character, which is to heal all the sick, and free the oppressed no matter what your sin is or what your problem is.

If fear has come into you in such a way that it is destroying your life it is because fear is in your heart. You have a fearful heart. But you have already given your heart to Jesus.

All the above is a result of a guilty conscience. The heart is the conscience.

YOU MUST LEARN TO GAURD YOUR HEART!

We take thoughts captive, we do introspection. What thoughts came into your heart? Now that you know that negative thoughts are not from God we should deal with them. You deal with them in the same way you deal with an unwanted aggressive dog in your home. It’s time to put your foot down and chase that dog out with your God given authority. Notice the words ‘Violent’ and ‘Force’ in the next verse.

Mat. 11:12:  “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

The Biblical way of dealing with negative thoughts feelings and emotions is to know that the Bible calls it the flesh. Gal 5:19 the works of the flesh is every bad feeling, thought and emotion. Jesus overcome the flesh at Calvary. Unfortunately He did not take it out of us, but we overcome them in the same way He did.

In Gal 5:25 we are taught how to do it. It says if you struggle with the flesh, CRUSIFY it!

This is what we do when we use communion. When we eat the bread we eat the flesh of Christ. Because He overcame the flesh we can do the same. Read Luke 9:23. Now comes the most important part. Drink the wine, which is the blood of Jesus.

Heb 10:22:  “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

If those thoughts dare to come back you bombard them with this scripture. Your conscience is blood washed You are sealed against death thoughts in the same way the Israelites were saved from death in Egypt because they applied the blood of the lamb of God  to their door posts. All day you meditate on the meaning of the blood of Jesus and the work of the cross and you will be free and you will know how to remain free and saved from the wicket, evil, nature of the sinful man.

In this New Year, I would like to welcome our new readers who have gone through the cave. Most of our new readers have experienced the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit who brought them here in wonderful ways.

Watch your Words!

Some people that I know have turned talking nonsense into an art form.  These same people are the ones who are not getting their basics needs met.  They say they pray and believe but when they meet up with their old friends they talk a lot of nonsense, cancelling out every life-giving word they spoke before.  Did you know the Bible says we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak. It also says that the angels of the Lord listens to the voice of God’s Word.  Did you know that God created the world with His world.  When we give our hearts to God heaven is listening to our words to bring to pass the things we have need of.  If we say something long enough it gets into the heart.  The heart, being like soil, will bring forth the things we sow into it.  If you say it long enough it will be the way you say.  I believe even the angels are so frustrated with the way we speak that they must ignore us until we actually believe the things we say.  I had an experience where the Holy Spirit was teaching me about the city of God.  The building itself was too big to describe, but the part I saw had steps leading up to a great door.  The door had a porch over it and I knew there were chambers in the same way Ezekiel describes it inside.

Agreement

When doing a building job or new project on our property, I have to know if the Lord is in it. Secondly, I need agreement from my family. Many years ago we learned the power of agreement because of Mathew 18:19.

Mat 18:19  “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”

We took this scripture to heart and wrote a physical contract of agreement. At the top, we write Mat 18:19 and then begin to write down the things we need to accomplish the task. Our first contract had basic things like our own property. A truck to transport wood out of the mountain, Yvonne needed curtains and the children had some needs. Michell was unhappy because they did not choose her for athletics and wanted to run and win the 80 and 60 meters. I remember it was a long list that we as a family agreed on as we had communion together and anointed each other with oil. Each of us gets a copy to take to our quiet time after everybody had signed it. It is a document of agreement. Do not come and tell me it is not going to happen this time! I will hold that document before you and show you where you agreed with everyone.

These 15 secrets of John G. Lake, which I wrote to you last month, start with holy cows and traditions of men which is the singular greatest stumbling block to faith. I have been giving this a lot of thought and believe that the problem is that we tend to read between the lines of the Bible and make up our own ideas while we should only be reading the Bible and believing whatever is written there.

For instance, Jesus healed everyone without asking about sin in their lives. To keep the healing they needed to be disciplined. When people do not heal after we pray for them we tend to say they did not have faith. This however was not a requirement with Jesus because He healed them with His faith and so it should be with us. To develop this kind of faith that heals when you lay hands on the sick (Mark 16) is what we should be after.

Remember David?

David concoured the Bear, the Lion and the Giant.
Remember David? Size: 8cm x 5 cm

Do you Remember David?

Yes David who was the youngest of eight sons.

David who were tending sheep and suddenly was anointed as King.

The same David who did not have the outward appearance of a King.

David who wrote 75 Psalms in the Bible, who played a harp and who was A MAN AFTER THE HEART OF GOD….I could go on and on about David.

David made mistakes and David was an ordinary man like any of us. The One thing that made David extraordinary was his FAITH in God.

David never backed down from a fight. He always trusted God for everything he needed. Weather it was victory, safety or provision, God was his refuge. Just read the Psalms and you will know that David knew God was with him.

That is the message I want to bring acros to you with this new magnet I made.

On the Magnet you will see the Bear, The Lion and the Giant. When David stood before King Saul seeking approval to fight Goliath this is what he said:

1 Sameul 17:37: “David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.”

David remembered what God had done for him in the past, we should also remember our past victories. We keep our faith high by remembering! We encourage ourselves for what lies ahead by remembering what God has done previously and that He never changes and will do it again! God is faithfull!

That is the main problem the Israelite’s had. They never remembered what God did for them in the past and they always got discouraged by murmuring and looking at the problem instead of believing God for what He has done!

Remember what God has done!

With this magnet I want to encourage you to REMEMBER what God has done for you! When we remember we become Victorious. Also at the bottom of the magnet you will see the Crown. David’s victories eventually caused him to become King. A King has to be victorious. We are kings and Priests of God. We are to be overcomers over every problem the enemy throws at us. Like David was anointed to be king years before he actually became king, so are we. When we gave our hearts to Jesus he made us kings with Him. Just like David we should be victorious in order for us to grow up into our kingship. Understand that all things were put under our feet (Eph 1:23) and nothing shall by any means harm us! (Luke 10:19)

Why did David pick up 5 Stones?

I once watched a testimony of a well known Afrikaans singer. He was going through a tough financial time and was playing in the Church band. He said he was feeling very down and discouraged but got up and went to Church. At Church an old Lady got hold of him and told him to be like David! Being down he said to the old Lady. But David picked up 5 stones and he only needed one! Even David had doubts! No! Replied the lady, ‘You don’t read your Bible son!’ Goliath had a Brother and 3 Sons who were giants too! David picked up 5 stones for 5 Giants but God slayed the rest. David only had to kill one!

At the bottom of my magnet you will see David’s hand holding his five stones and slingshot around his arm.

Today I give you 5 stones:

  1. If God is for you who can be against you? Romans 8:31
  2. All things that pertain unto life and godliness has been given unto us! 1 Peter 1:3
  3. In all things we are more than conquerors through Christ that loved us. Romans 8:36
  4. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
  5. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Romans 8:39

Last month I wrote to you concerning exercising discipline in our lives as a way of dying to our flesh. Previously I mentioned that I have been reading the work of Martin Luther.  Luther has a very deep understanding of the flesh.

Luther accuses the Pope of his time to have darkened the word “flesh”, to mean only sexual lust or lechery.

The monks divided themselves into different religious orders which followed different teachers and church leaders very much the way we still do. They wore their hair differently, believed themselves to be holier than all others while some lashed themselves to kill the flesh, others did not think it was bad to be obese. Luther concludes by saying “that these are works of the flesh.”

In this same way the word flesh is still darkened and hardly mentioned in sermons. Popular teachers are motivational speakers that use the Word, but the cross and sanctification is never mentioned. I am leaving it to the reader to decide which of these things are of the “flesh”. I would like to add that we are not to judge others but rather avoid.

The Husband and his role as Priest of the House

The fact that each husband should be the priest of his household seems to be widely accepted yet it seems that there are a lot of misconceptions in the implementing of this task.

Some of the guys want to lay down personal laws and expects the family to fall in line- which causes rebellion. Some people are leaving churches for instance because they do not agree with the rules. This same thing happens in families and businesses or partnerships.  The key to having successful partnerships is mutual respect and being in agreement.

Mat 18:19:  “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”

The subject of last month’s Email was to enter the rest with the time we have at our disposal during lock down. Perhaps you have noticed how the mind can wonder when you read the scriptures or try to pray.  Perhaps you will agree now how important it is to know where you are in your mind at all times.

I do not intent to teach about the twelve rooms but would like to remind you that the tabernacle is the way to enter into the presence of God.

The reason being is that we need to have the mind dealt with daily.

Science teaches that we have a hundred billion brain cells. I want each one of my brain cells to be filled with the light and knowledge of God. This is why we take thoughts captive, pulling down strongholds, principalities and powers. We cast down wickedness in high places from our own minds. These brain cells must be sanctified with the blood of Jesus so that I can have the Christ mind. In this way we become the tabernacle of God. The house of God is to be sanctified so that the Spirit of God  can speak to us in our hearts.

Welcome to all new comers to this monthly letter where our theme is to guard the heart.  You may have seen the explanation of the cross, the blood and the line for the first time and you are comparing scriptures you know from both testaments to compare to the Line. God has given us this tool with which to discern between flesh and spirit.

While doing this I hope that you will be using E-sword the electronic sword so you can understand the real meanings of all words written in the Bible. (www.e-sword.net)

It is important to note that all physical things explain spiritual things. For instance when the Bible talks about a physical tree it is explaining that we are spiritual trees. Always remember that the Bible is a spiritual book that uses the historical events of the Old Testament to explain the way we grow spiritually. We compare to the Israelite’s who were slaves in Egypt in the same way we were naturally ruled over or enslaved by the flesh.

Book 2 – The Short Sword

FOREWORD

My wife Yvonne and I decided to live in the countryside and give our children a quality way of living.  A farmer gave us a piece of land to live and build on.  I gathered dry hardwood from the mountains and carved it, and Yvonne sold it in the roadside shop we had built.  Although we were poor, we had a quality lifestyle and the hope of a bright future.

We were however not prepared for the baggage that        tourists and visitors left with us.

Yvonne with her sunny personality listened to the people and would get me to talk to them and we would strengthen them by the way we handle our problems, living our lives by faith and telling of our testimonies. We encouraged them to read the Word and wear the armour of God and understand the blood. It still surprises us how many matured childrenof God do not do these basics and then blame God. We were increasingly frustrated and kept asking the Lord for a way to help all the people we meet.

Three o’clock one morning I was sitting under the stars, the next moment I saw the Spirit World in a cave, and I saw many people being helped.  From that day it became our quest to own our own property and to build this cave.  This we have achieved through many trials and some of them are written in our book ‘The Line’.  We spent six years guiding people through the cave with our children, Aldo and Michell, after which the Lord gave us a painting and in a supernatural way proofed that there is a spiritual line between the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness.  For the first time we understood the cross and all the work that was done at Calvary.  All our personal problems were solved because of this revelation of knowledge and we also saw our friends healed and relieved from burdens.  We no longer need to go to a person for healing.  THERE IS A HIGH PLACE IN OUR MINDS where we meet our Lord in the cool of the day and receive our healing and instruction to solve problems etc.

The ‘Short Sword’ is a result of us being willing to sow our spiritual growth with all people.  If you sow you reap.

There are so many sick, poor, and depressed people who fear God, who simply do not seem to get a hold on what the Bible is about.  This book is meant to be your short-cut to understand what the punch line of the Bible stories are, and the reason why God has put it in the scriptures at all, and also to encourage you to study the Bible and find out how every story leads to the Christ story.

Part 1

The Mind

It is general knowledge that there is power in the mind.  As we know many people have used this power successfully but they are mostly non-Christians and this was what kept me from studying the mind.  For Christians this is uncharted territory, because they do not want to become demon possessed.

It was therefore with great relief that I found out that the ‘soul’ is the ‘mind’ and that Jesus Christ sacrificed his soul for man’s sin.  Sin is in the way we think, and this is how I came to the following conclusion – Jesus died for our minds.

As we continue these studies and you are serious about finding the truth for yourself, it will be necessary to load

E-sword onto your computer and check out all the statements and listen to what the Spirit of Truth has to say about it.

I wish we could only have done the punch line of every Bible story but I am hopeful that we will attract people on every level of spiritual growth; therefore we have to do a reasonable background sketch on every story.  The idea is that this book will be a handbook to draw easy drawings   or simply use it one-on-one with people you meet.  I always feel so powerless without tools to help the needy.  From now on if you visit the hospitaland the Lord gives you an opportunity to minister, simply whip out your ‘Short Sword’ and show them these pictures.

There is a power in the mind.

Gen 2:7            ‘Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. (I Cor 15:45-49.)’

He is now a breathing creature (H5315). These numbers in brackets are there so you can type the number into your E-sword where the binoculars are, and then see what the contexts of these words are in the Hebrew Greek dictionary.  The Old Testament is translated from Hebrew and the New Testament from Greek.

The power that is in Adam is God within.  The breath of God is the power within us.  He is the ‘I AM’.  He introduced himself to Moses as ‘I AM!’-THE POWER WITHIN YOU. The last is my personal observation; this power within us is God within us, and it is the only reason why our hearts beat.  Without His presence within us, we will die.

There are people who use the power within them without giving God the glory.  Some bend iron, walk over coals and get healing and call it the power of the mind. Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Marconi, Mark Twain all asked the ‘infinite power’ for inspiration before going to sleep.  They would spend a lot of time looking at their personal dream and fill themselves with it. These people were not known for their devout beliefs; they ignored the negatives and looked only at the positive. One young man of about eight years old summarised it all by saying: “Uncle, it sounds easy, but it’s not so easy, hey?”

My own brother-in-law was a non Christian, successful, business man.  We asked him to speak to a group during a weekend seminar.  He said there is a power within us, he does not know what it is.  Perhaps it is God, but he does not believe in God.  Through personal discipline he used this Power for financial gain.  He would get up early in the morning and dive into the pool, winter and summer. This was to train himself to keep his mind focused on whatever he had decided to pursue.  There goes my new car, and he would rub his hands in anticipation. And he would get it!

This non-Christian person made the following statement: ‘Once you have decided what the goal is, you have to look at it constantly, do not worry if there is no money, money will come’.  He never envied and was not jealous of others, HE ALSO HAD NO UNDERSTANDING OF HUMILITY.  He believed in being good and spoke of Old Nick as a sort of personal chastiser.

He was however not so fortunate in the other areas of his life like his marriage, and relationships.  There was a deep personal sadness inside my brother in law that could not be filled with possessions and a competitive lifestyle.

If you have read my book ‘The Mystery of the Ages’ you will have an idea of these inner wars that go on inside us.

The purpose of this teaching is for us to have holistic prosperity.

In my personal studies I have not found one of these successful people to work hard physically.  They spend a lot of time looking at their personal goals and dreams.

Power

As Christians we are not encouraged to use this power of the mind as a devil could get into us and in any case it sounds too Eastern.  However, we pray Eph 1:17: ‘The spirit of wisdom and the knowledge of the power we possess in Christ Jesus.’

We are not taught of this power in the mind as children and are encouraged, to borrow money from the bank.  They say: ‘You do not need God, borrow your money from us and stay in debt, for the rest of your life.  This may be the reason why we incur debt, because we want it now.  In contrast the Bible teaches: ‘Not by might or power but by My Spirit’.  Many power of the mind books do explain the mind power and do use it successfully, even quoting scripture.  We however know that one can prove anything by quoting the Bible.  But what we want to know is; how can we do it by the Spirit and truth and give God the glory?

In power of the mind books, many instances are quoted of supernatural things that come to pass because it was willed and waited for expectantly. My friend Trevor Thomson tells me of a time he was building a Christmas surprise for his children.  To complete the project he needed hessian.  On his way to search for a roll of the stuff he found an entire bail lying in the road. Now what are the chances of that happening? I can only conclude that this must be heaven providing, but Trevor is not into Christianity at all, so he must have used the power of his mind.

He said his mind felt strong during this time.  He was obviously confident that what he was doing, was right, and he expected heaven to provide.

What is the point of the crucifixion if we use the power and get along without the cross in any case? For this reason let us find out what the mind is.

Soul

A study of the word ‘soul’ in the Hebrew and Greek concordance led to the following discoveries The Soul is the ‘mind’.  If I had known this as a child my life would have been far different, for as a man thinks so is he.

The VINES dictionary on SOUL:

Vines on Proverbs 16:2: “The word appears to mean more than just the element of life; it seems to mean “soul”: “All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.”

The KJV alone uses over 28 different English terms for this one Hebrew word which we will share with you during the course of this book and the big study in the book ‘A Room with a View’ which will be the fifth book in this series on the line.

The Soul and Spirit of man is one of the most confused subjects on earth, but it is after all the power of the mind that is being used when walking over coals, or bending iron with the power of the mind.

Then what is the spirit?

When a person meditates their anger for instance, we look at him and say he has an angry spirit. This means his anger thoughts are no longer merely thoughts but has become the meditation of his heart.

As a person thinks so is he, now see what the heart is.(3 John 1:2)

Heart

If you ask most people where the soul is they point to the heart.

Proverbs 4:23              ‘Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life’.

This word ‘heart’ is translated ‘mind’ and ‘centre’ (3820).  This context of the word is used 666 times in the Old Testament.

Let’s read it correctly: Keep your mind (centre) with all vigilance for out of it flow the issues of life.

In other words as a man thinks so is he.

In Psalm 21:2 God gives us the desires of our hearts, but this word means MIND.

Therefore God gives us what we think in our hearts,  He gives us meditated deep thought whether it be good or bad, if we think we are sick, we are sick, if we think we are well, we are well. This is why we read the bible for we want to think God thoughts, spending time with God in a relationship with Him we are led by the spirit in the cool of the day and this results in a Spirit led life. We are no longer doing it by might or the power of the mind but by the Spirit of truth. (Zec 4:6)

Ex 7:1 God hardens the heart of Pharaoh.  ‘Heart’ meaning ‘mind’, we also harden our minds when we say for example; we will never again trust a person for some reason. This is a personal choice we made and not spirit led.

Gen 6:6            ‘And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart(mind).’

Pro 3:5             ‘Trust in the LORD with all thine heart (mind); and lean not unto thine own understanding.’

This leads us to the most important verse.  The word ‘soul’ is ‘mind’ and is the Strongs number 5315.  Its meaning is also ‘a breathing creature.’  The same that was breathed into Adam.  This word is also the same life in all living creatures.  GOD’S BREATH.

Is 53:10           ‘Yet it pleased2654 the LORD3068 to bruise1792 him; he hath put him to grief:2470 when518 thou shalt make7760 his soul5315 an offering for sin’

Sin is the way we think

Sin is non life giving thoughts. Thinking calamity, causes calamity, if our minds has such a immense ability to produce life or death we had better start watching what we think

Deut 30:19       ‘I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:’

In Rev 1:18 Jesus Christ holds the keys of death. This means only He can give us a safe mind in which to think life giving thoughts. John 10:10.

Figure 2 is what we are heading for; we want to be God’s kingdom, power and glory.  Others must see we are different for the kingdom is within us. This sun in the mind is the name of the kingdom of God (Gen 1:4).

Mat 16:19       “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

When we think and speak life, we loose heaven in earth.

Did Jesus really die for our minds?

The power is in the mind therefore it is the mightiest power house on earth, but is under constant attack of non life giving personal and carnal thoughts.  During the course of this book it will be proven that THE WORK AT THE CROSS WAS FOR THE MIND.

Dr J. Murphy’s book ‘The power of the mind’ says: “Science informs us that we build a new body every eleven months.  But if you build defects into your body by thoughts of fear, jealousy, and anger you will have no one to blame but yourself.”

The God power inside us is good and abundantly full of every good thing that we can imagine, think, or ask for.  (Eph 3:2)  It is constantly creating and pushing for ‘life thoughts’.  Traditions and religions have robbed us of this constant life giving force and replaced it with fear.

By studying the lives of successful entrepreneurs, great artists, poets, speakers and writers you will always find them asking the ‘inner power’ to reveal things nobody knows.  Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson, Dale Carnegy, Giacomo Puccini, Johannes Brahms, to mention just a few, said: “Straight away the ideas flow in upon me, directly from God.”   They were not necessarily Christians and did not understand the work at the cross as we do now, nor did they know about the blood, but they believed in the power of the mind.

Most of them say they are the captain of their own souls.  Not so with us.  We have a Captain who reveals all things to us by his indwelling Spirit.  We are guided continually by His truth and are the new generation the earth has been waiting to be revealed (Rom 8) and the nations will come to this light (Is 55:5).  In these people is the light of the world (Matt 5:14).  Therefore arise your light has come for the glory of the Lord has arisen upon thee (Is 60:1). The knowledge of the glory of the Lord has now come to us. (Hab 2:14).
