The subject of our monthly letters is guarding the heart.

Pro 4:23:  “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

This scripture is saying that all things pertaining to everything that happens in our lives is subject to the state of the heart.  The heart is the conscience; it is where the Spirit of God resides right inside our spirit.  The heart is where we pray and see in the imaginations and thoughts of the heart. In Genesis 6:5 – God saw that the imaginations and thoughts of the hearts of all the people on earth were continually evil. For this reason this evil generation was destroyed by the flood. In the New Testament this is a type of spiritual death.

Many of us are struggling to hear God’s voice and receive revelation from God because we do not make the state of the heart our first priority. Some people are tired of waiting on God to answer prayers but do not realize that hearing God only happens if the heart belongs to God. If we take part in daily sanctification of the heart we can confidently be everything the Bible says we are. The Bible says we are sons of God, but is it really possible to be sons of God if the heart is full of worry for instance?

As you know we are road-side artists who also have an opportunity to testify of the things God has done for us, to people who did not know that The Shoe is a Ministry.  Most of the these people that come here have been hurt or rejected by Christians because of all the confusion concerning churches, rules and doctrines. If you give them a chance to blow off steam you will hear that they did give their hearts to God but were not taught to guard the heart against sin. They did not realise that the heart should belong to God and only God, so that we can keep the first commandment. All this you know, but I would like to stress the power of the blood of Jesus for without it, the above cannot be achieved.

I am saying that Christians have very hard lives if these two points listed above is not practised daily. I am noticing that TV churches are leading people to Christ without making mention of the blood of Jesus that washes sins away.

We all want to live in the blessing of God and experience the great promises of God. We expect to be blessed because we are in Christ and are the seed of Abraham.

Gal 3:29:  “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

God swore by himself in Hebrews 6 that He blesses the seed of Abraham, yet so many times our prayers go unanswered.  Looking back in my own life I am amazed that I managed to get any prayers answered at all because I did not even know what sin was. Because of the Line we learnt that sin came into the heart. The very place that should only belong to God.

Sin came into the heart in the form of worry and all the other lusts of the flesh mentioned in Galatians  5:19. Because we understood that the heart must be guarded against the above mentioned; guarding the heart became a life style that is truly challenging. In guarding the heart the greatest weapon at our disposal is the blood of Jesus. Christ overcome the work of the sinful nature in man (Satan) by the work of the cross and His blood. Without the blood of Christ and the sprinkling of His blood we cannot have a clear conscience with which to believe.

The purpose of this month’s letter is to understand the word “soul” and the power of the blood. With the knowledge of the line it is possible to understand that the soul is below the Line and should be ruled over by the spirit which is above. Years ago I asked a knowledgeable person to explain the soul and I was met with a “it is very hard to understand the soul”.

Fact is that we are held responsible for our soul as in the case of the rich man who worked to satisfy his soul: Luke 12:19:  “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”

Luke 12:20:  “But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?”

I have lately been spending time memorizing scriptures that strengthens personal faith.

If you learn to keep the word in your mouth day and night you will make your way prosperous. In Mark 11: 23-24 we learn that you will have whatsoever you say if you believe and doubt not in your heart.

I was reminded by the Lord that this is the way we started and managed to accomplish much by speaking the word, hearing the spoken word brought faith –which is the only way to please God.

All this is important but I would like to remind everyone that faith will come on the scene a lot quicker if we guard the heart first of all. If we seek first the kingdom of God then all things are added. The kingdom is within and it is the heart of man where God makes His temple.

About 10 days ago we drove to the coast on a prepared holiday, a place where I had a very personal encounter with the Lord.  I received knowledge that made no sense making public.  I’m not going to spend a lot of time on details. The Lord took me to a place from where we could see the glory of God.  Anyone could see, all the power of God was there, it was in the shape of a rising sun, positively brimming with power. Then the Lord pointed to one particular shape in the clouds that was in the shape of a line. Inside this line the face of a man then formed and the line was drawn exactly where we draw the line of the crown, forming a rising or morning sun in the mind of that person’s face.  Then the Lord stepped forward and asked what did I not understand, can’t you see the same light that is in God is also inside the mind of that man.

For days after this encounter with the Lord I was left in tears, but tragically no further explanation.  I have been praying about having a healing anointing but as I have never had experienced illness it seemed strange that people don’t just go to the Lord as we did with these things.  After a few days a bowl problem became more severe in my body and I started drawing closer to the cross; but the Lord was not responding.  Instead of it getting better it rather grew worse.  Eight months ago it was diagnosed as Gallstones. No doctors, no I said! The Lord will do this, we all agreed.  Sharpening our two edged swords we settled into the Word, however in these eight months I did not eat a proper meal for one day and eventually became a bag of bones.

I have once again been astounded at how just about everyone knows about the power of positive thinking and yet most of them do not know how to apply this truth. They sit in the Tea Garden talking about the state of our country discussing how to get out of here. They know they should be positive but then refer to the latest encounter with the traffic police and so on.

We know we should be positive yet the mind wanders off to the things of this world. This is a typical example of double mindedness. To get things done in the earth we need heaven to come to earth. “Let thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven”  God is preparing a people who will bring His will into the earth in the midst of whatever you are going through right now. He is doing this by allowing us to live in the present day fire of tribulation.

Some put this word tribulation into the future but the Bible uses it in the present tense.

The imaginations and thoughts of the heart are meant to be in use. It is not meant to lay dormant for emergencies only. If it is not in use, we are limiting God in the things He wishes us to bring forth by faith. We should be continually growing in all areas of our lives and should be living exiting lives where we believe for things we would have thought impossible in the past. The present political situation in our country, challenges in our health and family should be a challenge to overcome in our minds, choosing to not live in it but above it.

Deut 30:19:  “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live:”

Last month I wrote on Feelings.

From reactions to the last letter it seems we are all guilty of allowing feelings to rule in us one way or another. Natural man wants to be pampered to sink away into feelings. Feelings like goose bumps, floating away sensations, generally away from the realities of this world.

The idea is that we should be doing something in the earth, while most are intent on being someone in the earth measuring all and everything by material things and the way they feel.

However our purpose from the beginning has been to have dominion in the earth. In the same way we rule over animals we should rule over the fleshly state that is within. Feelings is to be ruled over.

    FEELINGS

About a year ago I wrote on the subject of “the wife” that has brought forth a lot of giggles, however the fact that it is our main obstacle in life still stands. Because I still do not fully understand my W.I.F.E. (Will, Intellect, Feelings and Emotions)  I was pleased when I heard a woman talk on the subject of feelings. Margret Thatcher said the following when her doctor asked her how she was “feeling”  in the movie ‘Iron Lady’.

“Don’t ask me how I am feeling, ask me what I am thinking”.

She had a big problem with feeling things, as we should have. Why do you want to tell people how you are feeling? I don’t feel comfortable, or how are you feeling? The contrast between the Lady and the government of her time was that she did not allow her feelings to pamper her. The government was so busy feeling bad, that there were no jobs, that they allowed the unions to devastate the country as everybody wallowed in feelings. This state of mind brought chaos the England at that time as rubbish piled and transport services came to a standstill because feelings ruled in the heart.
