I have once again been astounded at how just about everyone knows about the power of positive thinking and yet most of them do not know how to apply this truth. They sit in the Tea Garden talking about the state of our country discussing how to get out of here. They know they should be positive but then refer to the latest encounter with the traffic police and so on.
We know we should be positive yet the mind wanders off to the things of this world. This is a typical example of double mindedness. To get things done in the earth we need heaven to come to earth. “Let thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven” God is preparing a people who will bring His will into the earth in the midst of whatever you are going through right now. He is doing this by allowing us to live in the present day fire of tribulation.
Some put this word tribulation into the future but the Bible uses it in the present tense.
Rev 1:9: “I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Before we were born we were spirit and when this body dies we will be spirit once more, the difference being that this spirit will be in a far greater advanced state because of tribulation in the earth. We overcome the things of this world by guarding our hearts against the world system and especially the way its people talk. We are not of this world we are only passing through on our way to a far better life that Christ has prepared the way to. We follow Jesus and the way of the cross daily to lay down our life, to have a life in Christ right here in the earth. Every negative thought that comes to us to be a thorn in our mind garden must be uprooted and crucified. We take thoughts captive, deal with it at the cross and then speak the word of God. You will find that the word says exactly the opposite from the world system. The word says whatever we do we prosper . (Psalm 1) It says we are the blessed of God, even better is says God wants us to prosper.
Ps 35:27: “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”
But why do we struggle to prosper then? I can only speak out of my personal experience. I thought I was just being honest by saying that I was poor. I thought prosperity was only for certain people. This was the way I was brought up by humble parents. Later when I found out that the bank was not going to loan me money I asked God for money and then He started teaching me to speak God’s word. I learnt that Jesus was not speaking the word anymore for He had already created everything and put all things in place so I may use His name and His word to speak to the situation. I believed God and I just kept on saying the things written in the Bible. I just kept on speaking God’s word until it filled my heart and mind and became so real inside me that when it happened it was exactly the way I said. It has been done this way throughout ages by millions of believers and still works that way today. Never partake of negative discussions, return to that secret place in your heart and make sure it is full of life-giving word.
The gospel we should be preaching is the gospel of peace. Peace in the heart of man, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The same spirit who rose Jesus from the dead dwells in you. The same Spirit who was in Jesus preaching peace and healing is now in you. The emphasis is peace to the heart of man, so that it can bring forth life. Discussing the problem; however healing you may think; it is making things worse.
