However the rewards are high. We are not only promised everlasting life but peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Rom 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
The promise of peace and joy in this life is not a small matter. The people of this world go to extreme lengths to have peace and joy. Most think they will be happy if they have material things. While they are struggling to get the money they have to use drugs, sex or gambling to find some peace in the mind while they are waiting for their ship to come in.
I know Christians that are struggling with illnesses, deep regret, broken hearts, fears and even superstitions. We are not being spiritual if we think the devil is hidden somewhere in a physical object. We already have enough trouble with the lusts of the flesh to go and give Satan other powers he does not possess. In the words of Martin Luther: “We have enough to do all our life long in taming the body, slaying its lusts and compelling its members to obey the Spirit and not the lusts”.
Change your inner image! Satan does not have power over you! You have power over Satan in Christ.
Mat 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
The righteousness can be obtained by following Jesus daily and laying down your life as He did. (Luke 9:23) Daily we are saved, made the righteousness of God , His truth, peace, word and faith. (Eph 6) Daily our thoughts are sprinkled from an evil conscience (Heb 10:22) We are washed in pure water and our heads anointed with oil. He crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies. Then we are hid in Christ. It is no longer I who lives but Christ lives in me. Read Colossians 3. Put on the new man daily, mortify your members.
Surely such a person clothed with the above lives a life of peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Not only this, we are also to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22. Would you not rather live in love, peace, joy and freedom in Christ. Rather study the things that are above than to look at the world. Learn to live this life in Christ that makes us free from earthly things.
Religion [man made rules] is below the “line”. John 10:10 is above the “line”.
To be saved into Christ daily means that we are living heavenly lives right here in the earth above the line because our conversation is in heaven and we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, to rule over the things of the flesh. God has gone to a lot of trouble to give each person born into the earth an opportunity to have a developed spirit that can rule over the flesh in Christ. To mope around in the earth with hurt feelings and broken hearts and superstitions is not going to develop the spirit.
“O why did God allow my son to die?” I am sorry this happened, but if you will crucify this hurt Jesus will save you, he will comfort you and give you peace and joy in the Holy Ghost and now His power is present again. This is the Kingdom life we lead in Christ, as long as we remain in Christ, Christ is in us to teach us the reason for each trial if we are willing to die to self and live in Christ the kingdom becomes greater and greater and God is the light of that Kingdom within us. Yes we are still living in the earth but our minds are above, at peace, in joy, in freedom and in power!!!
